As we work our way out of the Winter hibernation and patiently (kind of) await the gifts of Spring we have days of brilliant sunshine mixed with cold bone chilling weather. The Culinary team at Taste has been keeping themselves busy with creating wonderful treats for your enjoyment. Housemade gluten-free bread, a host of salumi items and fresh from the Taste Winter garden delights just to name a few.

The big buzz at Taste is our April visit to New York City and the James Beard House. As a team we have been refining the menu, the pairings and the presentation. Invitations are not handed out on a regular basis and this honor is very coveted. With a lump in my throat everytime I say it "What an honor to be selected to represent our region at the Culinary Meca known as the James Beard House." We will not just represent Taste, Amador County and the Sierra Foothills but we will represent all the amazing goodness that the Sacramento Valley, San Joaquin Valley and Northern California can offer. We will bring California to New York and show them how we do this!

James Beard Preview Dinner ~ March 19 Just a few seats are left for this fundraising dinner at Taste. Enjoy the same meal that we will be serving at the James Beard House in New York City on April 30. 150 per person inclusive. Call for reservations.

Caviar Tasting ~ April 11 with Sterling Caviar, the largest producer in America who just happens to be located in Sacramento. Details to the right. More Caviar events to come - Cooking with Caviar hands on class May 22, Caviar Dinner June 19

Amador Foothill Winery Open House pairing dinner ~ April 19, 20 & 21 you can enjoy a pallette pleasing pairing with the new releases from Amador Foothill Winery. Featuring 2012 Rosato of Sangiovese, 2011 Estate Grenache and 2009 Esola Zinfandel. This dinner will be available in addition to our regular menu. Make reservations at your convenience.

Noceto Winery pairing dinner ~ Wednesday, June 5 at Taste. This intimate dinner with the Owners and Winemaker is an annual treat at Taste. We are still working out the details of the dinner and will post on our website asap. Together we always try and push the boundaries of pairings and pull out all the stops! Dinners in the past have included grappa side by side with the varietal it was made, 10 year vintage span side by side, Italian wines, Asian food and many more. Call for reservations.

Amador Treasure Trail returns on March 22 and 23. If you like Adventure then you'll love this event. It's great for girlfriends, couples, families, old and young. The only pre-requisite is that you like adventure and are curious. Prizes awarded for costumes, slowest and fastest and much more. go to for registration and details. Just $15 per person.

Do Lunch! Did you know that Taste serves lunch on Saturday and Sunday?! Now you know. There are many guests who find it easier for their schedule to enjoy a lingering lunch date at Taste. Visit a couple of wineries and join us for a delicious lunch afterwards. Lunch is served from 11:30 to 2:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Reservations welcomed.

Thirteen Dollar Thursday at the Wine Bar ~ Enjoy a delightful appetizer and beverage pairing for just $13.

Monday Supper ~Every Monday enjoy a three-course meal for thirty dollars or less. The dinner includes an appetizer, entree and dessert. An optional beverage pairing is available each week too.

Need a Getaway? The Volcano Union Inn + Pub is the perfect spot for a getaway. Midweek room rates are available. The Pub is open Thursday - Monday.
